13th August, 2006: Church day

Sunday. Guess what? I went to church. I attended the english speaking sermon. Hung out with the Chinese American. It's not easy to fit myself in their community, since I wasn't born here and I didn't grow up with them. That makes me have problem to know all of them at the same time. I'll see how it goes. They will have a camping trip to somewhere next weekend. I'm not a big fan of camping. Also, I would be really tired after working.

10th August, 2006: Old's gone, new's here

Said goodbye to my GSX in Champaign!!! That was a memorable moment. I bought it there and she died there....... Yes. I'm back in business, started blogging again. It's not an interesting blog I know. It's just a record of what happened and what I felt. Kind of like a reflection journal. I'm living with my dear aunt and uncle and their fat cat. That cat is getting friendier with me day by day. I've to say that I'm impressed. She was attacking me the first day. Today she even accepted my offer (a bite of biscuit). Enough for the cat. I'm working this stressful yet not rewarding temporary job. I'm working because I don't want to stay home and do nothing. When I say nothing, it really is....sad thing is I can't even go out by myself. I'm okay living without a car but not without internet! Thank god that I could use aunt's internet here while she's at work. I really don't want to bother her much at night when she's back. I know she's tired and stuff after work. I really hope that I could get my first real job soon. I don't want to be like this relying on relatives this way.

12th April, 2006: Finally I'm on the newspaper

First of all, they made a stupid mistake. Hong Kong is not in Japan. At least they got my name right. See what they quoted in the middle. It looks like I'm a coach or something. hehehehe....not bad considering just going to Fort Worth for fun.

18th March, 2005: Spring break is over!

I spent 4 days this week on pingpong practice. Finally it turned out to be giving up my Chinese penhold grip. I can't get mine feeling on the Chinese rubber. It's getting slicker and slicker. It doesn't generate much spin now. It's not even spinning as good as Japanese rubber. I decided to go back to Japanese penhold grip from today. Tournament is next week. It's a gamble for me. I'll do some shadow practice this week. And work on the grip orientation on next friday. I think I can get that feeling back. A penholder without forehand shots = suicide. I made some delicious food this week. I'll try to remember the techniques that I developed and improve it day by day.

11th March, 2006: Getting a new released rubber to give it a try

I don't get too much feeling with my G666 rubber. Especially for the looping part, I can do power loops like I did before with Sriver. I am hoping this LKT Pro XT manufactured by 729 can give me more ball feeling.

LKT PRO XT

Next generation of rubber formulation. Engineered for tackiness. Thin top sheet with unique under pip structure. Fitted for over the table loop. Deadly serve to attack transition. Special XT sponge designed to enhance performance. Total rubber and sponge weight is very light.

PRO XT utilizes tackiness with modern elasticity. A thin, tacky top sheet with a specially designed under pip structure generates a shocking quantity of spin with the most compact stroke. PRO XT is an excellent weapon for the 3rd ball attack as well as the compact loop.

SPEED: 10 SPIN: 12 CONTROL: 12

10th March, 2005: Backhand doesn't feel right...

Good!! At least I tried the Chinese penhold grip. The backhand is just too difficult for me to control, no matter just plain blocking or reverse loop/block. I took my Japanese penhold blade out again. Planning to play with it tomorrow. Alan de Coral's milk tea
Alan de Coral's pork chop baked rice
Pan fried chicken drumsticks with spinach rice
I cooked some really nice food lately. Not that often though...I'm too lazy to cook these days...But whenever I cook, I do my best to make it taste right.

26th February, 2006: Acquiring new equipment for new playing style

The CARBON blade is a state of the art product which is designed and produced using the very latest top quality material and production methods. Veneers of wood are combined with a new type of carbon fibre, which is known to be used in the aviation industry. The quality of the carbon gives the blade outstanding characteristics, a high torsional strength and high rigidity whilst still maintaining a light weight. Due to a sophisticated glueing and pressing method, we have succeeded in combining natural wood and carbon fibres to design a very fast blade with a level of feeling and control like no other. The high torsional strength of the carbon fibre material gives the blade a massive sweet spot area. The CARBON blade is for those who thrive for speed and technology. 7 layer - 5 ply wood + 2 ply carbon fiber I'll use DHS G666 on forehand and SriverEL (Sriver G2 coming soon). I believe it not be as heavy as a shakehand paddle. It would be my first time to try a carbon blade.
